Nok Air plans to make Chiang Mai International Airport a domestic and international hub.

Nok Air CEO, Wutthiphum Jurangkool, says Chiang Mai in northern Thailand is an appealing travel destination and that it will be launching domestic services from Chiang Mai International Airport to these three destinations:

Nok Air is also studying demand for services linking Chiang Mai to U-Tapao-Rayong-Pattaya International Airport, he says.

Nok Air sees there is strong demand too for cargo from Chiang Mai, particularly agricultural products, fruits and flowers, he says.

Jurangkool says Nok Air already offers domestic services from Chiang Mai to: Bangkok’s Don Mueang International Airport, Ubon Ratchathani Airport, Udon Thani International Airport and Khon Kaen International Airport.

Smart Aviation Asia Pacific previously reported on 21 June that Jurangkool says Nok Air operates three De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Dash 8 400 and plans to increase its Boeing 737-800 fleet to 20 from current 14.
