Indonesian carrier TranNusa plans to relaunch on 6 October as a low-cost carrier with scheduled services on two of Indonesia’s major trunk routes.
Details on the airline’s website shows it plans to launch a twice-daily Jakarta-Bali service on 6 October and that same day launch a twice-daily Jakarta-Yogyakarta service. Both services will use Airbus A320s.
TransNusa already has two A320s on lease from China Aircraft Leasing (CALC) and has said publicly it expects to receive a third from CALC by end of September.
The airline’s booking engine shows that on 13 October it plans to increase the Jakarta-Bali service to four-times-daily and on the 14 October increase it to five-times-daily.
TransNusa used to be a regional airline that operated ATRs but it shuttered its operation in September 2020, due to the pandemic, and then had to reapply for its air operator certificate. It says it now plans to be a low-cost carrier.
